Menu for Hope 4: Call for West Coast Prizes

Menu for Hope 2007I have an annoucement to make, one that is of great cause; this year, I will be the West Coast host for Menu for Hope, an annual fund raising event organized by Chez Pim. Last year, Menu for Hope raised a whopping $62,925.12 for the United Nations World Food Programme and this year, we are working with them again. Collectively with Chez Pim, all the regional hosts, and you, I hope to make this year’s Menu for Hope a bigger success…

So what does it mean for you? It’s really simple. If you’re a west coast blogger and would like to participate, just follow the steps below:

1. Think of a cool prize that you wanted to donate–a prize that would generate, say, at least 20 bids. (The more bids we get, the more money we raise.) The prize can be food related or non-food related, but must be appealing enough to drive donation and bids. There is no limit to the number of prizes you donate, but it’s about quality, not quantity.

2. After you decide on your prize, please send an email to bylow919@gmail.com with the following information:

  • Your name
  • The name and address of your blog
  • The pictures of the prize, in both 250×250 px. and 100×100 px.
  • Brief descriptions of your prize

3. After you send me the above information, I shall provide you with the prize codes of your prizes.

4. The deadline for prize submission is December 7, Friday. So, please send me your entries before Friday.

5. Menu for Hope 4 will kick off officially on December 10, Monday. Please announce your prizes on your blog with the prize codes and encourage your readers to donate and bid for them. I shall also write a big post listing all west coast prizes.

If you live outside of US West Coast and would like to participate, please contact the following regional hosts:

United Kingdom: Johanna of The Passionate Cook and Jeanne of Cooksister
Europe: Fanny of Food Beam
US Central: Kalyn of Kalyn’s Kitchen
US East Coast: Adam Kuban of Slice NY and Serious Eats
Canada: Jennifer of The Domestic Goddess
Asia Pacific, Australia, New Zealand: Helen of Grab Your Fork

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email me.

Good luck to you Bee! I know how much hard work hosting is having done it myself last year. Thanks so much for taking on the job this time, I was sorry to be unable to do it myself this time round. I will send you details of my prize on Friday at the latest. I am rooting for you…

    I am in a terrible bind – I can’t
    a) post pictures to my blog
    b) publish my blog posts
    or
    c) send emails from my gmail
    from my home computer.

i hope to sort this out and get something to you but at the moment I am extremely frustrated
