JALAN ALOR!! I miss the food there so much!!! =(

Hmm...the Fatty Crab NYC version of the Jalan Alor chicken wings are really pretty good! Different but still good....think they've added Kicap ABC to it...not sure...
I'm actually gonna try throw together a Jalan Alor chicken wings recipe tonight...will see what happens! =)

As for how to "approach" eating at Jalan Alor...
Think everyone there has their favs....
Of course, Wong Ah Wah is a fantastic stop to make! (The last stall/restaurant on the street for those that don't know...)
As for others...
About half way down the street there are two stalls/restaurants called "Meng Kee" and "Sui Kee" they are side by side to each other....pretty good if you're looking for "Ikan Pangang", "Lala" and I forgot what you call that shellfish...the one that in a spirally shape and you have to suck it at both ends to get it out? What do you call it? "Balitong"? I think...

In the day time...half way down the street you've also got a great Bah Kut Teh...the soup kind though. They don't have the dry type.
And again about half way down(but closer to the start of the street) somewhat directly opposite the road from the little mini-market there's a pretty good little restaurant/stall that you can have a basic "chap fan" (chinese home style dishes with rice)...the food is pretty good...not much selection, but what they do have is tasty =)

Oh ya!! If you go slightly pass the turning down Jalan Alor there's a small road side stall on your right that has great Yau Char Kuey, etc!

Hope all that helps!!

Damn.....I miss the food tons now...

I haven't been back to Jalan Alor quite a while. I am definitely glad the City finally decided to keep the same name. It is mind boggling even for me when I venture into Jalan Alor. I am lucky enough to have my KL friends familiar with the scene take me around.

Any Jalan Alor connosseur care to share and help the readers out?

Hi Rasa Malaysia,

Great blog!
I visited KL last year and of course went to the Jalan Alor. The variety of dishes available was mind boggling and as such I had a little difficulty tracking down the best stuff. What is the best way to apporach this street? Are there any particular stalls which one should try and how does one order? Did have the chicken wings they were AMAZING. Also can you please tell me the best restaurant to try authentic Nyonya food in KL

cheers
