Had lots of years working for a Japanese company and being put up in matchbox sized rooms which wasn't fun but always enjoyed the food and culture. I was in Singapore last trip and had a "Japanese" breakfast in my hotel, which I blogged about <a HREF="http://is.gd/4ldU" REL="nofollow">http://is.gd/4ldU</a>. Sure you can enjoy the South-East Asian take on the meal and the bad day that followed. Glad you had a great trip. Great photos.
