BK Black Steel 12″ Skillet
The creators of the first modern enameled Dutch oven, Dutch cookware company BK is pleased to announce their new line of pre-seasoned carbon steel pans, BK Black Steel. Winner of the 2019 Red Dot Award for its design, it is slated to launch in June exclusively at kitchenware retailer Sur La Table through the end of the year.

The black color of Black Steel is the result of hot-rolled black carbon steel, which is stronger and more durable than grey carbon steel. The 2.0mm gauge thickness means it not only conducts heat well but is also extremely durable and long lasting. Safe for even metal utensils and extreme temperatures up to 600°F, this unyielding material is 3 times denser than aluminum, more durable, and better for lasting use. Tinting and staining is also limited by the dark layer.
Tough, lightweight and low maintenance, this pan couldn’t be simpler to clean with just hot water and a sponge. BK’s state-of-the-art production process creates a unique layer of oxidized iron that acts as a barrier to moisture and protects the pan long-term from rust and natural damages that typical carbon steel faces.
