What is Pad Thai Recipe
Pad Thai is a Thai stir-fried noodle dish with rice stick noodles, shrimp, chicken, fried tofu, and bean sprouts. These ingredients are cooked with a sweet, savory and spicy Pad Thai sauce over high heat in a wok. It is a popular street food in Thailand and sold by many street vendors.
Pad Thai Ingredients
What do you put in Pad Thai? You will need rice sticks, fried tofu, bean sprouts, chicken and/or shrimp, peanuts and fresh limes. You can get the ingredients easily now from regular supermarkets, in the International food aisle. If not, you can buy them online or go to an Asian store.
What is Pad Thai Sauce Made Of
Pad Thai Sauce is the soul of the dish and only 5 ingredients: fish sauce, vinegar, chili powder, sugar and water. Mix the ingedients together to make the sauce. There are many bottled Pad Thai sauce in the market but they are not good. If you use bottled sauces, then Pad Thai is bad for you as it’s loaded with chemicals, preservatives and MSG.
How to Prepare Dry Rice Stick Noodles
Follow the package instructions to boil the dry rice noodles. The rice noodles should be soft (but still chewy and not mushy) after boiling. Rinse the boiled noodles with cold running water before cooking.
