Garlic bread homemade from scratch is so much better than store-bought! This garlic bread recipe has the best spread, it's buttery and takes 20 mins to make.

Ingredients

– 1 loaf country-style French bread or French baguette Garlic Bread Spread – 6 cloves garlic, peeled – 1/4 cup chopped flat-leaf parsley – 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt – freshly ground black pepper – 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil – 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F (176°C).

Step 2

To make garlic bread spread, process the garlic in a food processor until fine. Add the parsley, salt and pepper and pulse twice.

Step 3

Heat the olive oil and butter in a medium saute pan. Remove the pan from the heat and add the olive oil and butter mixture to the spread.

Step 4

Slice the bread in half horizontally, and spread Garlic Bread Spread on the bread and put the halves together. Wrap the bread in aluminum foil.

Step 5

Place the bread in the oven and bake for 5 minutes. Open the foil, and continue baking for an additional 5 minutes. Slice into pieces and serve immediately.
