Skillet Garlic Butter Steak

Ingredients

  • 12 oz (340g) top sirloin steaks about 1 1/2-inch (4cm) thick steak
  • coarse salt
  • ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Garlic Butter

  • 2 tablespoons salted butter softened
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley

Instructions

  • Season both sides of the top sirloin steaks generously with salt and ground black pepper. Set aside.

  • Prepare the Garlic Butter by mixing the butter, garlic and parsley together. Let cool in the fridge.

  • Heat up a cast-iron skillet on high heat until smoking hot. Add the oil. Transfer the steak to the skillet and pan-sear each side (do not turn) for about 4 minutes. Turn over and pan-sear the other side for another 4 minutes. Transfer the steak to a serving platter.
  • Add a dollop of the Garlic Butter on top of the steak and serve immediately.
