Servings: 4 people
- 2 inches (5cm) ginger skin peeled
- 1 lb (500g) wingette about 10-12 pieces
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 pinch salt
- lemon wedges optional
Pound the ginger in a mortar and pestle to extract the juice. Marinate the chicken wings with the ginger juice and all the seasonings. Mix well and marinate for 1-2 hours.
Grill the chicken wings or bake them in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked and golden brown.
Serve immediately with lemon wedges (optional).
- Make sure your oven or grill is nice and hot at 375°F (190°C) before you start cooking. This helps your wings cook evenly.
- Give the chicken wings a quick pat with paper towels before marinating. This helps the marinade stick better and results in a tastier glaze.
- If you’re baking, put the wings on a wire rack over a baking sheet. This lets the heat circulate all around.
- Whether you’re grilling or baking, don’t crowd the wings. Give them some space so they cook evenly and get that perfect golden brown.
