Ingredients

  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan over low heat, add the sugar and water.
  • Do not stir. Let the mixture come to a gentle boil.
  • Gently swirl the pan to help the caramel cook evenly.
  • Once the caramel turns light amber, continue swirling the pan occasionally as it darkens.
  • Swirl until the caramel reaches a golden amber color, then immediately turn off the heat.
  • Immediately pour the caramel into your desired pan or container.
