- 1/2 pound shrimp
- 3 oz (85g) snow peas
- some canned straw mushrooms or button mushrooms, optional
- 2 teaspoons cooking oil
- 5 slices ginger peeled
Sauce:
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon sesame oil
- 4 tablespoons water
- 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon Chinese cooking wine Shaoxing wine or rice wine
- 2 dashes white pepper powder
Heat a wok over high heat and add the cooking oil. Add the sliced ginger and stir-fry until aromatic, then add the shrimp.
Toss the wok a few times or stir-fry the shrimp briefly before adding the snow peas.
Add the sauce to the wok and stir quickly to coat the shrimp and snow peas evenly.
As soon as the shrimp are cooked, dish out and serve immediately.
