- 1/2 cabbage head
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- salt to taste
- 3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
Cut half cabbage head into three 1-inch (2.5 cm) thick slices. Set aside.
Heat the olive oil in a non-stick frying pan under medium-high heat. Add cabbage steak to the frying pan. Then, generously sprinkle salt and grated parmesan cheese on top. Sear each side of the cabbage steak for 3 to 4 minutes or until the cabbage leaves are tender and slightly golden brown. Dish out and serve immediately, with extra grated parmesan cheese on top if desired. (If you don't have a big pan, cook the cabbage steak one at a time).
Tips:
- Choose fresh cabbage to have a tender yet crispy texture once cooked.
- Don't overcrowd the pan. If you have a small pan, cook the cabbage steak one at a time.
- Add a hot kick to the dish with paprika or red pepper flakes to enhance the flavor.
