Chicken Marsala

Chicken Marsala is an easy and delicious Italian chicken recipe with juicy chicken, mushrooms and creamy marsala sauce. This recipe is authentic and goes well with rice or pasta!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 15 oz boneless skinless chicken thighs (preferred) or chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic sliced
  • 8 oz cremini mushrooms sliced
  • 3/4 cup Marsala wine
  • 3/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped

Instructions

  • Add the all-purpose flour, salt, and black pepper to a shallow plate and mix well. Coat the chicken thighs evenly with the flour mixture.
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with one tablespoon of butter and olive oil. Pan-fry the chicken thighs for 5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  • Melt the remaining butter in the same skillet and sauté the mushrooms and garlic until fragrant.

  • Add the Marsala wine, chicken broth, and heavy cream. Season with salt to taste. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer the sauce for 5 to 8 minutes.
  • Return the chicken thighs to the skillet and continue simmering for another 10 minutes until the sauce thickens. Spoon the sauce over the chicken to keep it moist and flavorful.
  • Remove from the skillet and serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley.
