- 3 black tea bags
- 1 liter hot water
- 1 lemon sliced
- 3-5 calamansi limes optional
- 2 cups ice
Syrup
- 2 lemongrass white parts only, pounded and sliced
- 2- inch (5cm) piece ginger peeled and pounded
- 1 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup sugar
In a jar, add the tea bags to the boiling water and let them steep until cool.
In a small pot, prepare the syrup by adding lemongrass and ginger to the water. Heat over medium heat until the water reduces to about ½ cup. Add the sugar and stir to combine. Turn off the heat and set aside.
Add the syrup to the iced tea, followed by the lemon slices, calamansi limes, and ice. Stir well to combine and serve cold.
