- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 3 oz (90g) broccoli florets
- 4 oz (120g) chicken breast meat sliced into thin pieces
- 4 shiitake mushrooms sliced
- 1/4 small carrot peeled and sliced
- 1 pinch salt and sugar to taste
Marinade:
- 1/2 teaspoon Shaoxing rice wine or rice wine
- 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
Sauce:
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
- 3 dashes white pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
- 4 tablespoons water
Marinate the chicken in the Marinade for about 10 minutes. In a small bowl, mix all the ingredients for the Sauce and stir to combine well
Heat the oil in a wok. Once hot, add the garlic and stir-fry until aromatic. Then, add the broccoli and stir-fry for a few moments.
Add the chicken and continue to stir-fry. Then, add the mushrooms, carrots, and the sauce (stir it before using) and mix well with the other ingredients in the wok.
When the sauce thickens and the chicken is cooked through, add a pinch of salt and sugar to taste (optional). Dish out and serve immediately with steamed rice.
