Homemade Garlic Bread

Garlic bread homemade from scratch is so much better than store-bought! This garlic bread recipe has the best spread, it's buttery and takes 20 mins to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf country-style French bread or French baguette

Garlic Bread Spread

  • 6 cloves garlic peeled
  • 1/4 cup chopped flat-leaf parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter room temperature

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (176°C).
  • To make garlic bread spread, process the garlic in a food processor until fine. Add the parsley, salt and pepper and pulse twice.
  • Heat the olive oil and butter in a medium sauté pan. Remove the pan from the heat and add the mixture to the spread.
  • Slice the bread in half horizontally and spread the Garlic Bread Spread on both halves. Then, press the halves together and wrap the bread in aluminum foil.
  • Place the wrapped bread in the oven and bake for 5 minutes. Then, open the foil and continue baking for an additional 5 minutes. Slice into pieces and serve immediately.
