Kimchi Fried Rice - easy fried rice made with Korean kimchi. Kimchi adds a spicy and pungent taste and absolute best. This recipe takes 15 mins to make.
1/2cupkimchicut into small pieces + 1 tablespoon kimchi juice
2cupsovernight steamed white rice
1tablespoonsoy sauce or to taste
1/4teaspoonsesame oil
3dashes ground black pepper
1stalk scallioncut into small rounds
Instructions
Heat a wok or skillet over high heat. Add the oil. Once the oil is hot, sauté the garlic and onion until aromatic. Add the kimchi and stir quickly before adding the rice. Stir to combine well.
Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and scallions. Stir a few times to blend with the rice. Dish out and serve immediately.
You can fry an egg sunny-side up and serve it on top of the kimchi fried rice.
Notes
I like my Kimchi Fried Rice spicy with lots of kimchi. Cut down on the kimchi if you like a milder taste. You can fry an egg, sunny side up and serve on top of the Kimchi Fried Rice.
