Ingredients

  • 1 lb (500g) medium-sized shrimp shelled, deveined, tail-on
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 dashes black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley leaves
  • lemon wedges

Instructions

  • Rinse the shrimp thoroughly. Peel and devein the shrimp, leaving the tails on. Drain any excess water in a colander and season with salt and pepper.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the butter and sauté the garlic until aromatic but not browned. Add the shrimp in a single layer and stir to cook evenly.
  • Add the cayenne pepper and lemon juice, and continue to cook for 2–3 minutes, or until the shrimp is fully cooked. Add the parsley and stir to combine well. Dish out and serve immediately with lemon wedges.
