Ginger Garlic Baked Salmon - the best and easiest Asian salmon marinade made with delicious ginger and garlic. The result is moist, flavorful, and juicy.
The Best Baked Salmon
This baked salmon recipe comes from my very popular ginger garlic baked chicken. It is one of the best salmon recipes ever!
Imagine baking the salmon with some ginger, garlic, honey, soy sauce, and oyster sauce.
Ginger and garlic are two of my favorite ingredients. I never run out of them in my kitchen.
In Asian cooking, they are two of the most important ingredients that impart amazing aromas and flavors to all kinds of food, especially when they are used to marinate protein such as chicken, meat, or seafood such as salmon.
The end result is SO good. The salmon is extremely flavorful and delightful.

The marinate for this recipe is just so good. After trying it with chicken and salmon, I threw in some minced chillies tonight and marinate a big flat piece of fillet. Then pan-fried it with medium heat. Very very good with white rice. This marinate is so versatile! Many thanks!!
Hi Lily, that’s a great idea. I will have to do it with fillet. Thanks for trying my recipe!
My husband and I are young married couple just moved into a new home and have zero cooking skills. I had only 20mins to prepare this yesterday but the outcome was so good my husband asked for more! Mind you I was a disastrous cook, but this one kind of made me LEVEL UP, y’know? I might need to buy your recipe book. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Aiena, thanks for trying my recipe, I am so glad your husband enjoys my ginger garlic baked salmon. You need to cook more from my blog! :)
This is back on the menu for dinner tonight. My 11-year-old daughter specifically requested for this! One of the very few dishes that she really likes. We all do! We eat it with steamed brown rice and a side of broccoli. Thanks again for this delicious dish!
Hi Anna, thanks so much for trying my ginger garlic baked salmon recipe! :)
I just have a couple of questions…I do not have oyster sauce or white pepper. Can these just be omitted or are there any substitutes for these ingredients?
Thanks!
If don’t have oyster sauce, you can use soy sauce but it’s not going to be as delicious.
I wish you had mentioned the marinating in the prep time, or as a separate note. Not really accurate to say there is only 10 minutes needed for prep time when you are supposed to marinate for at least 30 minutes!
To me prep time is active time when you have to do something.
This threw my timing off as well. We ate pretty late that night. Maybe say 10 minutes prep/30 to 90 minutes marinate. It was, however, worth the wait. Delicious. Thanks for the recipe.
You don’t have to marinate long, you can bake right away.
My local store had salmon steaks on sale, so I’m looking for some good recipes. Do you think this recipe would work with salmon steaks instead of fillets? Or would another method of cooking or another one of your recipes work better? Thank you so much!
Hi, I am curious as to what the green, leafy garnish is on top of the salmon? Thanks!
They are just chopped parsley as garnishing.
I, too, was wondering what you put on for garnish. I noticed that you also used sesame seeds. Neither of these items were listed in your ingredients. It’s a little pet peeve of mine when recipes are not complete. Sometime I print off the recipe and take it to the store only to review the online site and find that not everything was listed. Maybe in the future you could include your garnish ingredients as well, if only to appease your fans with similar peeves. Looking forward to make this for dinner tonight! Thank you!
The sesame seeds are there for my photos to look petty, not really adding new taste or texture, and hence it’s not in the recipe.
I understand, and the photo was amazing, but I, too, would like my dishes to look pretty when presented. Presentation is a very important part of any great meal. I did make the dish last night, and it was wonderful!! Again, thank you for a wonderful recipe!
Hi am having this for dinner right now, and it is very delicious! Sweet and tender juicy salmon. One bite and my boy exclaimed “Wow very yummy!” and I totally agree after trying it. Thank you for the recipe!
