  • Choose orange-fleshed sweet potatoes —they’re naturally sweet, creamy, and crisp up perfectly in the air fryer. They also have just the right amount of starch for crispy edges and a soft center.
  • Pick firm, smooth ones – Look for sweet potatoes that are firm with smooth skin. Skip any with soft spots, bruises, or sprouts—they won’t cook up well.
  • Go for medium size – Medium-sized sweet potatoes are easier to cut into even fries. Larger ones can be tough to slice, and smaller ones cook too fast and get mushy.
  • Avoid dry, dense varieties – Pale-fleshed sweet potatoes are drier and better for roasting. Stick to orange-fleshed varieties for the crispiest results.

How To Make Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries

First, peel and rinse the sweet potatoes, then cut them into strips—think classic fry shape. Soak them in water for 30 minutes (this helps make them crispier!). After that, drain the water and pat them dry with paper towels. Now, toss them into a big bowl, drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle some salt, and give them a good mix. Set them aside, and you’re ready for the next step!

Preheat your air fryer to 330°F (165°C). Pop the sweet potatoes into the basket and let them cook for about 5 minutes—just enough to start crisping up.   • I cook them twice for extra crunch—this trick changed everything! I start by air frying at a lower temperature first, let the fries cool for a couple of minutes, then crank up the heat and cook again until they turn perfectly crispy.

Ingredients  

  • 2 lbs (1kg) sweet potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 Pinch salt
  • 3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • Chopped parsley leaves, for garnishing

Instructions
