Banana Pancakes Recipe
Makes 6 banana pancakes
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup milk (or water)
2 eggs
Butter for greasing
Berries of your choice (for topping)
Maple syrup
Banana Filling:
6 bananas @ 6 oz. each (peeled and sliced)
4 tablespoons melted butter
Method:
Sift flour into a bowl and add eggs, milk (or water), and sugar. Mix and beat well and set aside.
Heat melted butter in a pan, add the bananas, toss until coated, and cook over medium heat until the bananas start to soften and brown. Make sure not to overcook the bananas. Dish out and set aside.
Melt a little butter in a non-stick frying pan and pour the pancake mixture into the pan and cook over medium heat until the underside is golden. Turn the pancake over and cook the other side. Transfer to a plate and fill the pancake with the banana. Fold the pancake over to enclose and top it with some berries. Drizzle maple syrup on the pancake before serving.

Found about it on Twitter. Looks so good. Great pictures.
Thank you. Hope you enjoy this recipe.
Your husband must really enjoy this for breakfast :D
He ate a bunch and went off to his football game :)
He didn’t even give you a “thank you” kiss before he left??? :D
what a sweet breakfast… the step by step instructions sounds easy… not sure when I had my hands on them will it be that easy :P
Let me know how it works out for you. Hope it is as easy as well :)
Ahhh..this was how my mum used to make her pancake too!! Thanks for the recipe! I am going to try making this soon.
Have fun :)
I love banana pancakes! These look crisper than the ones I make.
You can make it even crispier if you have flat pan and spread it real thin.
Nice breakfast! the last banana pancake I ate was in Bali… just delicious! I’ll try your recipe. Thank you…
Bali and banana pancakes. I bet some good memories there :) Try this recipe. Hope it reminds you of Bali :)
Thank you for sharing this recipe. I always have those ingredients around so there’s no excuse not to make them. Love the photos.
Thank you. It’s definitely a good use of the ingredients if you have them around you.
Yummy! I love pankakes!
Alternatively, the same thing works really well with some Granny Smith apples.
PS: wonderful photos as always!
Thank you.
Gorgeous! Absolutely gorgeous!
Thanks!
Looks really light and yummy!
I think it is, too.
WOW looks so DAMN good – This is my favorite pancake combination!
Tasted as good as they looked, too ;P You should try it.
I don’t think you could have made those pancakes look any more enticing if you tried!
Thank you for the sweet compliments!
Don’t get me wrong, these look good, but on what planet would this recipe ever be considered healthy?
Hmm, besides the flour, all else is natural and healthy, no?
fantastic looking pancakes!
Lookin oh so delicious! I don’t really like bananas but those seriously look good. You should enjoy them while listening to Jack Johnson’s Banana Pancakes song.
:) I believed some Jack Johnson’s tune was in my head making these banana pancakes in the morning. But not the Banana Pancakes song, since it was bright and shiny when I made them. Check out the lights on the pictures :)
Now that’s a good looking crepe! You know, when I read your banana pancake post, it reminded me of the Penang banana pancake that’s sold in the coffee shop. God I love the crispy bits..*craves* Got to make some for breakfast soon! :)
I don’t think I’ve seen any in Penang coffee shop :O
Enjoy the crispy banana pancakes breakfast :)
This looks soooo much better than just regular pancakes! Yum! I can’t wait to try these tomorrow morning. Maybe if you use really ripe bananas (when they are turning brown), you could skip the step of cooking them in the pan and just drizzle melted butter on them instead.
Fresh bananas caramalized better and good for photo taking :P
alert(‘t’)
hummm, ca m’a redonne faim…
;p It is really quick and easy. You should try it. Appre’ciez..
Hi, this recipe is great and appealing especially you wish to have a simple yet healthy breakfast. It is great to see so many of Malaysian’s cooking and traditional recipes here, I really wish to try them all at home. You are great in promoting our Malaysian’s recipes!
Thanks for the comments and support. Happy reading!
What a food competition.
Thanks for the recipe. It looks so yummy and the most important part is that next time I don’t have to go for hokkien mee for my breakfast :)
It’s a nice change :) even though I may opt to have hokkien mee for most of my breakfast mornings ;P
Thank you for that recipe! I made it this morning and the entire family loved it!
:) Thank you for trying this pancake recipe.
I had already mashed my bananas with eggs and then discovered I was out of milk! Found and made your recipe (with blueberries and vanilla yogert on top, bananas in the batter). YUM!! Thanks for posting it!
Haha. Happens to me quite often when I’m cooking. Glad you enjoyed the banana pancake recipe :)
I followed ur recipe n tried a few times but no way am I able to spread the batter so thinly to make it looks like yours! After showing my Hubby the photo of ur banana crepe, he commented,”wow! Hers is hotel standard, urs is housewife standard. ” Can u kindly share with me how to spread the batter evenly n thinly?
So sorry to hear that, what I did was quickly swirl it around the pan so it’s in a thin coat. You might want to put in less batter in the pan so it helps to spread. If you still think it’s too thick, then add a little water.
wow! this is exactly what i was looking for! Some cafes in Goa serve this with a generous slathering of nutella (chocolate spread) on top of the folded pancakes… yumyum! i’m making these tomorrow even if it’s a work day =D
thank you luv!
KV – awesome. Let me know how you like it.
i luv it!!!!
Great recipe! This is just what I was looking for. My mum used to make pancakes this way too. Thanks so much for posting!
I tried your excellent recipe, but made it even more Malaysian by substituting the maple syrup with gula apong (nipah palm sugar). Gula melaka (commercial palm sugar) should also work just as well.
Sounds really delicious with the palm sugar. Good idea. :)

Hi Bee
I have a little suggestion for this Banana Pancake recipe. Follow the recipe step except that the banana be (pulsed) pureed instead of being sliced. Next spread the puree on the pancake before folding. This will enhance the taste of the pancake because the pureed banana is integrated into the pancake. In sliced form the banana will taste independently of the pancake.
Regards
Tim
Good idea but I don’t like mashed bananas, I like a little bite to it.
I just found your website and I’m loving your recipes and the way you display it. I cant wait to try your recipes, they all easy to make and looks so yum to eat. If you don’t mind, I’m wondering what camera are you using to take the pictures of the food. Thank you
Thanks for your comment. I shoot with Canon T1i. :)
