Weekly Meal Plan - what's for dinner tonight made easy with a collection of easy and delicious recipes, hand-picked for busy home cooks. Start eating in today and save money!
I am so excited to share this Weekly Meal Plan #2 with you. Last week, I published the first ever Weekly Meal Plan #1 and the responses have been very positive. Many readers cooked from my recipes and loved them.
I will make this a weekly feature. The Weekly Meal Plan will be published every Sunday, so make sure you check it out every Sunday to plan your delicious week ahead.
As I specialize in all kinds of cuisines, I will take you around the globe so you can eat healthy, enjoy delicious homemade meals, plus save a ton of money every week. Let’s go!
Monday – Shrimp Scampi Linguine
Shrimp Scampi Linguine is my favorite pasta ever because I love shrimp! You can get a 1-lb bag of frozen shrimp from Target, Trader Joe’s for about $9.90 or cheaper. Eating well is so important on Monday night.
Tuesday – Creamy Garlic Chicken
Creamy Garlic Chicken is absolutely delicious. It’s so easy to make and the sauce is slurp worthy.
I used chicken thighs, which is cheaper and budget-friendly. Just serve the chicken with plain spaghetti, or a loaf of French bread to sop up the creamy sauce!
Wednesday – Kung Pao Chicken
Let’s spice up hump day by transporting you to China. My Kung Pao Chicken recipe is absolutely awesome. You don’t have to deep-fry the chicken.
The spicy and savory Kung Pao Sauce will have you begging for more. Double up on the sauce if you like your chicken saucy.
Thursday – Apple Chicken Sausage Salad
You’re probably too tired to cook up a storm and just want something quick and easy, with store-bought ingredients.
This Apple Chicken Sausage Salad is easy, healthy and delicious. Add an extra or two apple chicken sausages for a more substantial meal.
Friday – No Cooking
Saturday – Garlic Chive Butter Steak
Open a bottle of your favorite red wine and enjoy this juicy steak. Pair it with the BEST mashed potatoes AKA Joël Robuchon’s Mashed Potatoes and enjoy steak restaurant’s dinner on a leisure Saturday night.
Side Dish – Joël Robuchon’s Mashed Potatoes
The BEST homemade mashed potatoes you’ll ever make. I guarantee you!
Sunday – Hawaiian Kalua Pork (Instant Pot)
You might want to cook up a pot of Hawaiian Kalua Pork so you can bring the leftover to work on Monday.
This recipe is super easy to make. Just dump everything into your Instant Pot or slow cooker (cook for 6 hours). Catch your favorite shows on TV while dinner is being cooked.
I hope you enjoy this post as much as I do. If you try my recipe, please leave a comment and consider giving it a 5-star rating. This is great. I personally love the weekly meal plan. It helps those who are busy, have to run around with the kids and have the get the meal ready in an hour or less. It is costly to eat out for a family of 5. Thank you again for the suggestions and plans. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Vivian!
This is fantastic! The only thing better would be having you do the cooking! ? everything looks so delicious.
Hi Theresa, lol. I wished someone would cook for me!
Thanks for all the ideas to make our weekly meal planning easier!
Thanks for following my meal plan. :)
Can I just say Thank You for the idea of a weekly meal planner, invariably I call my wife and the conversation is what will we do for dinner tonight? Planning ahead means you can stock up on whatever ingredients you may not have on hand and if something is not available then you can just substitute a meal from a previous week even better if it was a particular favourite.
I treat these as recipe ideas rather than a plan that must be followed slavishly, who cares if you have fish twice a week?
Thanks again for this idea.
hi Huan, thanks for your kind comment. Yes, this is more like recipe ideas than a plan you must follow specifically. I am happy that you like my meal plan. :)
I have made several recipes of yours some more than once even so tonight. All of your food stylings/pics look so delicious and I can’t wait to try more, some that are included in your new meal plans which is great that you are doing that now – good job on them so please keep them coming. It would be great if you could include more Instant Pot Recipes especially since I am new to it and still learning. Thank you for the wonderful recipes you share with us. Got any tips to help me not feel a little bit intimidated by my Instant Pot? Any would be welcome and appreciated.
Hi Lou, thanks so much for your support, you can check out all my Instant Pot recipes here: https://rasamalaysia.com/recipes/instant-pot-recipes. There is nothing to be scared about the Instant Pot, you can just do a natural release of the pressure if you are scared. :)
Hi Bee,
We love your recipes in ‘the land down under’, and your weekly meal plans are a fantastic addition to an already wonderful website. You have become the ‘go to’ site for 3 members of our family, we have online competitions, posting photos of our replicas of Bee’s creations. Just would like to say that flexibility with your weekly plans is a given, and it is so very easy to add your own imagination to the basic menus you have supplied, especially with choosing side dishes to suit your own taste.
Kindest regards
Julie (Australia)
Hi Julie, thanks so much for being a supporter, and thanks to all 3 members of your family. :) I am humbled and grateful. Yes, this weekly meal plan is more like a general guide to help readers plan their meal ahead. You can adapt and switch the order and try other recipes. I have Menu Pairing Ideas in each recipe so there are more ideas to explore. Thanks again, I appreciate your support. :)
I am one who appreciates that you maximize inexpensive ingredients–e.g. pasta, chicken. I have only two suggestions…one is that you do the weekly menus on Thursday or Friday, allowing people to shop for the following week over the weekend. One is a result of my knowledge of ME, myself and I–i.e., that I am NUTS if I plan to cook every night…or even 4 times/week. I end up wasting toooooo much food! It’d be cool if you could do 3-4 active cooking meals (I would recommend 3 :-) and another 3 using the ingredients/basics of those initial 3 to 4. I really appreciate your site.
Hi Barbara, yes, I totally agree it would be crazy to cook 6 times a week, but I know many people do, especially if they have kids to feed. This is a general guideline and you can pick the ones you want to cook. I publish the weekly meal plan on Sunday morning US west coast time so depends on where you are, you might not have time to shop. You can always refer to previous meal plan for ideas. :)
I cook 7 days a week and have done for years. I wish I could afford not to have to cook every night but itโs so expensive to eat out that itโs a real treat if we get to do it once a month!
Hi Maria, I hear you, hope my weekly meal plan helps. :)
Yes, I do cook 6 days a week and Friday night is my night off! Your plan is perfect for me. I do agree that meal plans are always a guide as no one meal plan fits everyone’s need and by adjusting and reshuffling the plan it is the best guide I have seen! Thanks Rasa Malaysia!
Thanks for your support. :)
You have planned pasta both Monday and Tuesday nights. You have planned chicken Tuesday and Wednesday. I would serve the mashed potatoes or rice with the garlic chicken. The meal plan needs a little more variety, maybe a meatless dish.
Hi MJ, thanks for your feedback. I have pasta on Monday, I have chicken on Tuesday. You don’t have to serve pasta with the chicken on Tuesday, you can eat as is or with rice or mashed potatoes. MY meal plan serves as a general guide, you don’t have to follow it exactly, or you can shuffle yourself to fit your needs and what you have in the fridge or pantry. I will try to have a meatless dish in the meal plan but I don’t have many meatless recipes on my blog.
