I had gone completely bananas with this delicious banana bread. (Banana bread is also known as “banana cake” outside of the United States.)
I love the smell of baking, especially the smell of banana bread, so yesterday, I baked banana bread (banana cake). Previously, I baked banana nut muffins to perfume my house with the sweet aromas of bananas.
My banana bread (banana cake) was topped with sliced bananas. As a result, my banana bread looked so photogenic I had to take numerous shots of them…

Here is my banana bread (banana cake) recipe. Do try my banana bread (banana cake) and drop me a comment if you have questions about my banana bread (banana cake) recipe. Please also check out the banana bread and banana bread recipe on Gourmand Recipes.

Marble Cake Recipe
Ever since I set eyes on Annie’s marble cake post, the image of her rich, buttery, chocolaty marble cake has made quite an impression on me. Annie is a superb baker and she once shared her aunt’s butter cake recipe with me that had me oooh and ahhh for the delicious great taste. I know her marble cake recipe will…

Banana Pancakes Recipe
Once in a while, I like making healthy breakfasts, for example, banana pancakes with maple syrup, topped with my favorite berries. Nothing beats waking up and having a feel-good breakfast that is loaded with all the nutrition one needs for the rest of the day–protein, vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, and more. I am not a big fan of traditional pancakes; I…

Chocolate Cake is of course one of my favorites but I have been putting off the idea of baking it as it can get quite messy at times. I came across the lovely chocolate cake on Little Teochew and…

Your banana bread looks so good! I really like the banana slices on top. Nice photos!
Very nice! I never thought of laying slices of bananas on top of the loaf before, I’ll try that next time. The texture of yours also looks completely different from mine! (http://soyandpepper.blogspot.com/2007/11/banana-bread.html) I must try your recipe (must convert the measurements first, eeps) and see how that turns out. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your ‘cooking storm’.

Wow! I’ve loved banana bread ever since I was a little kid and my mom let the bananas turn brown and mushy on purpose. This banana bread certainly takes the cake (pun intended) when it comes to aesthetics!
yum!!! is it terrible that i want to just slice off the top of the whole loaf and eat it? looks amazing.
I love mine with walnuts, th ebst pairing that worked for me:) love the way you’ve placed the bananas bee:)
the banana slices along the top are a really beautiful touch. Nice recipe and nice blog.

pretty! i like the banana pieces on top.
another idea: mush up half the bananas & chop the rest into small pieces, making for both banana flavor in the bread, spiked with bits of extra tasty gooey banana throughout
I LOVE the way you topped the cake with a design of bananas….just too good looking!
You should check out this contest for the best banana bread recipes. You could win a $50 gift card!!

There aren’t very many recipes competing either, so you could probably win it pretty easily!! I could just copy your recipe and win it myself, but that would be cheating. Plus I’m the one sponsoring the contest!!! :)

I made this banana bread using your banana bread recipe and they turned out so good.

I love banana cakes.. I´m going to bake one too. But how heavy is 1 cup?
I would like to try your recipe, but can i use 1/2 cup of vegetable cooking oil instead of 1/2 cup unsalted butter?
I am not sure, it’s best you follow the recipe as is.
Love the look of this banana cake. But being in the UK, I’m not sure what your cup measurements are! Pls enlighten me, preferably in metric measures. Terima kasih!

my kids love so much.thanks for share, easy recipe.
Great that you love the recipe, which reminds me that I am due for some banana cakes!
That is a very good recipe. I actually added a little bit of ginger (which is good for the digestive) and it came out tasting delicious!

Awesome, great that this banana cake recipe works for you.
thank you for the recipe, just made it today and it was yummy! even my roomate was raving about it!
Hi, i just tried this recipe…my banana cake cracked on top…the top part risen quite high and cracked the nice row of banana i have added as garnishes (just like what you did). Any advise for improvement?
Hi Lilacz, I am not sure. Mine worked out quite OK but they did get cracked a bit. I am sorry but not much help here.
I have a similar receipe like yours, instead of vanilla essence I add banana essence and I used 3 eggs. I do like the way you put the banana slices ontop. It looks great!!
Oooh, I will have to try your recipe of banana bread.
I recently made this banana bread recipe. It was incredible!!! My hubby and boys keep begging me to make more. Just bought more bananas to make several loaves. Thank you for the recipe!!
Thanks for the comment and that you love the banana bread recipe. Yes, this banana bread is a keeper. Did you put sliced bananas on top?
I just baked it and i love it! I love bananas cooked in anyway! one of my fave is kolak pisang (bananas cooked in coconut milk, palm sugar and pandan leaves)
I love your website. I’ve only started cooking early this year after moving away from home so I’m still struggling to master most basics. I tried your banana bread recipe today and found that it was too dry for my liking. Would you be able to tell me where I went wrong? I left the mix in the oven for exactly 60 minutes. Thanks for sharing your lovely culinary adventures with us!
When combining the mashed bananas, eggs, melted butter and vanilla, does that mean just put the ingredients together not necessarily mixing them very well or should I mix the wet ingredients very well before folding the mixture to the dry ingredients?
Bee, what type of banana do you use for the banana cake here? Back home we always use pisang rajah but they are not available here! :(
BTW, I was craving for pisang goreng but again no pisang rajah available. I tried using the normal banana we get at the store and it didn’t turn out that great! ~ rather bland!
Yes, I used the regular ones also from American supermarkets. Just wait for them to be almost rotten and the taste gets sweeter.
Hi Bee,
All your recipes are fab! But somehow the Sesame Oil Chicken
is not accessible.
