- Mouthwatering sauce. The honey garlic sauce strikes the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and sticky, coating the tender salmon and making every bite bursting with flavor.
- Healthy and delicious. Full of omega-3s from the salmon, this dish is not only nutritious but also super satisfying. Itโs the perfect balance of feel-good and flavorful!
- No more dry salmon. One of the best things about cooking in the air fryer is how it locks in all that moisture. Say goodbye to dry, overcooked salmonโthis recipe gives you perfectly tender, flaky fillets every time.
Ingredients Youโll Need
- Salmon fillet โ I went with skin-on salmon fillets because the skin helps lock in moisture and keeps the fish from falling apart in the air fryer. If youโre using skinless fillets, no problemโjust handle them a little more gently when flipping or taking them out of the basket so they stay in one piece.
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Lemon wedges
Honey Garlic Sauce
- Olive oil
- Garlic
- Honey
- Apple cider vinegar โ You can swap it for lemon juice if thatโs what you have on hand.
- Water

How To Make Air Fryer Salmon
Spoon the sauce right over the salmon, making sure itโs all coated evenly. Or, you can place the salmon in a ziplock bag, pour in the sauce, and give it a gentle massage to spread it all around.
Once the 6 minutes are up, take the salmon out of the air fryer. Be careful and pour any dripping from the basket into a small bowlโitโs packed with flavor and perfect for drizzling over the salmon or some rice.
Secrets To Perfect Air Fryer Salmon
- If youโve got a little extra time, marinate the salmon for 10โ15 minutes before cooking. It lets the salmon soak up even more of that delicious sauce for extra flavor!
- For the best results, donโt overcrowd the air fryer basket! Giving the salmon some space lets the hot air circulate evenly, ensuring a perfectly cooked, juicy fillet every time. If youโre cooking more than one, itโs better to do them in batches for the best outcome.
- If your fillets are on the thicker side, you may need to cook them for an extra 1โ2 minutes. Just be sure to check that the internal temperature hits 145ยฐF (63ยฐC) for perfectly cooked salmon every time!
- Donโt let that delicious dripping go to waste! Pour it right over the salmon or drizzle it on some rice for an extra burst of flavor.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Just make sure to thaw the salmon completely in the fridge before seasoning and air frying. Once itโs thawed, give it a quick pat dry to remove any excess moisture.
Itโs best to stick to marinating the salmon for about 10-15 minutes. Any longer, and the apple cider vinegar in the marinade can start to break down the fish, which could lead to a mushy texture. For the best flavor and texture, 15 minutes is just right.
You can store it in an airtight container for up to 2 days, but for the best flavor and texture, try to eat it within 24 hours.
For reheating, I recommend using the air fryer at 300ยฐF (150ยฐC) for 2โ3 minutes to bring it back to life without drying it out. Just be sure to avoid the microwave if you canโit tends to overcook salmon and make it a little too dry.
