The Best Way to Cook Mushrooms
One of the easiest recipes to make over the stove top is garlic herb sauteed mushrooms. You don’t need to use an oven to roast the mushrooms, which saves a lot of time.
Stove top cooking is quick and easy as you just saute the mushrooms on a skillet with simple ingredients.
This garlic herb sauteed mushrooms recipe is inspired by a hotel buffet I tried recently. It’s super-easy, healthy, absolutely nutritious and delicious.
I sauteed the mushrooms with olive oil, garlic, parsley, seasoned with a bit of salt, and topped with some shredded Parmesan cheese.
The mushrooms go well with simple noodle dishes such as garlic noodles, parmesan garlic noodles, or as a side dish.
How Long Does It Take to Saute Mushrooms?
This recipe takes only 10 minutes from prep to dinner table. It takes about 2-3 minutes to cook the mushroom on medium heat, using a skillet.
Do not overcook the mushrooms or else they will lose the nice texture. A quick saute is all it takes to cook mushrooms.

This was delicious. It turned out as flavorful and well-seasoned as the pictures you posted. What you see is what you get. Scrumptious. Lots of humming at the table. I had this with your mouth watering Parmesan Garlic Noodles. God, that was so tasty too. In fact I loved the seasoning on the mushrooms so much I plan on buying even more mushrooms and sauteeing them again and putting them over some noodles. Thanks for sharing. Every dish that I’ve cooked from your site does not disappoint.

Hi, Rasa!
I’m planning on making this dish for around 25 people! How many does this dish typically serve?
Rasa Malaysia
You need to increase the quantity by at least 5 times.

Thanks so much for your nice comment on my sauteed mushrooms recipe.

This looks amazing…have you ever made them in a large batch and then reheated them later. Want to make for a large group, approximately 25…but so much going on would like to make earlier in the day than reheat.
What about adding other types of mushrooms???
Rasa Malaysia
Sure, sounds like a good idea. I never make for 25 people though. I would stick to white and brown mushrooms as different mushrooms cook differently. Good luck! :)

Looks good! According to the recipe, the mushrooms are to be washed under cold water.
I was advised that for such kind of mushrooms (ie. white/brown/portbello mushrooms), to use a damp towel to clean them would be sufficient. Which is the correct way?
Thanks!
Rasa Malaysia
The damp towels is the correct way, but I always wash with cold water. Never have an issue with that.
Cass McGeiger
Just wash them early in the day and let them sit to dry out until you are ready to use them if you are worried about them soaking up too much water.

Thanks for your amazing tips.

Just curious, can you use wild mushrooms like shiitake or something?
Rasa Malaysia
Yes, you can!
