Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. (750g) bone-in pork chops, at least 1-inch (2.5cm) thick
  • salt
  • ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 2/3 cup chicken broth
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2/3 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt , or to taste
  • 1/3 cup shredded Parmesan cheese, plus more for garnishing
  • 1 tablespoon chopped Italian parsley leaves

Instructions

  • Season the pork chops with salt and ground black pepper.
  • Turn on the Sauté mode on your Instant Pot. Once the pot is fully heated (to prevent the pork chops from sticking), add the olive oil.
  • Pan-sear the pork chops until both sides are slightly browned. (You can use a regular skillet or a non-stick skillet for this.)
  • Add the garlic and chicken broth to the Instant Pot. Sprinkle cayenne pepper over the pork chops. Cover the pot, select Manual, and set it to High Pressure for 8 minutes.
  • When it beeps, perform a Quick Release. Once the valve drops, carefully remove the cover and add the heavy whipping cream, salt, and shredded Parmesan cheese. Stir to mix well, then switch to sauté mode to reduce the sauce to a thicker consistency, about 2-3 minutes.

I loved this recipe!! I want to try and make it using chicken next time instead of pork chops. If I use chicken breasts… how long should I pressure cook?

    1. Rasa Malaysia says:

      Same time.

  2. Susan Giaquinto says:

I’m out of cream. Could I sub sour cream or would that change the taste too much?

    1. Rasa Malaysia says:

I think you can try sour cream but the sauce might taste sour?

  3. Kayla says:

If I slow cook this recipe in my instant pot on slow cook mode do I cook on low med or high for 4 hours?

    1. Rasa Malaysia says:

Hi Kayla, I think so, I have never used Instant Pot Slow Cook mode, so I am not 100% sure.

    2. Victoria Murray says:

I made this tonight and it was amazing. I accidentally added too much chicken broth so I had to make a small slurry to thicken it. Because my pork chops were so massive, I took them out while I thickened the sauce then added them back in for 5 min while it allrested and the sauce tightened up. I also took the garlic out and minced it. I steamed taters tossed in some olive oil, salt and pepper on top of the pork chops and my fily put some of the sauce on them (I’m keto). This is definitely going in the rotation! Great recipe!!

  5. Cori Chao says:

hi. my chops are not 1 inch thick. More like 1/2 inch thick. Is there modifications I could do to use this recipe. Thank you.

    1. Rasa Malaysia says:

This is fine, just cut down pressure cooking by 2 minutes.

      1. Meg and Dayrl says:

We loved this recipe. It was delicious and tender. This was the first pork chop recipe we have used where the pork chops were nice and tender. We made it according to your directions. My fav pork chop recipe. Will use it again.

    Can you use boneless chops?

    1. Rasa Malaysia says:

      Yes you can!

  7. MM says:

I only have regular 2% milk right now. Do you think I could use that in place of the heavy cream? Thanks!

    1. Rasa Malaysia says:

Hi MM, that should work. Just won’t be as creamy.

  8. Ashley says:

Do you take the pork chops out before adding in the cream and Parmesan or just dump it on top of everything?

    1. Rasa Malaysia says:

Just add everything on top is fine. You can flip the pork chops over if you like before adding.

  9. Sheri Bryant says:

So this maybe a strange question, but I stuck at home like everybody else and I only have beef broth at home. Would that work or would it destroy this recipe?

    1. Rasa Malaysia says:

      Beef broth is fine.

  10. Delia says:

Family loved this dish served over noodles, even my picky son! The chops were so tender. The gravy was so tasty and very reminiscent of alfredo. Definitely a keeper!
