Step 3: Push the pork chops to one side of the skillet. Add the remaining butter to the empty space. Once melted, add the garlic and sauté for about 10 seconds, until it just starts to turn light brown. Then, pour in the Honey Garlic Sauce. Helpful Tips For Home Cooks

Boneless pork chops (center-cut boneless pork chops) with asparagus on a plate.
  • Use a cast-iron skillet (preferably) to pan-fry the boneless pork chops. Cast-iron skillets retain heat well and distribute it evenly, resulting in golden, perfectly pan fried pork chops. You can also use a non-stick or stainless steel skillet.
  • Use a combination of vegetable oil and butter for pan frying the pork chops.
  • Cook each side of the pork chops without turning for about 3-4 minutes, depending on their thickness. This step ensures that the pork chops achieve a golden brown color and are perfectly cooked.
  • Use fresh garlic minced with a chef’s knife on your cutting board. DO NOT grate or blend the garlic.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use bone-in pork chops?

Yes, bone-in and boneless pork chops can generally be used interchangeably in recipes. Bone-in chops often have slightly more flavor due to the bone, while boneless chops can be easier to eat.

Can I bake pork chops in the oven?

Yes, you can certainly bake pork chops in the oven. However, for this recipe, I don’t recommend baking because the honey tends to burn, resulting in less tasty results compared to cooking on a skillet. Baking also takes more time. This skillet pork chops recipe only takes 15 minutes from start to finish.

How long should I cook pork chops?

Cooking time depends on the thickness of the chops and the cooking method. Generally, pork chops should be cooked until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). You can use a meat thermometer to measure the internal temperature.

Can I use honey mustard instead of honey in this recipe?

Absolutely! Honey mustard can be a great substitute for honey in this recipe. It adds a tangy and sweet flavor to the final dish.

How many calories per serving?

This recipe is only 348 calories per serving. It’s healthy and loaded with protein!

For 1 inch thick cut boneless pork chops, should I increase the cooking time? If so, for how long?

    1. Rasa Malaysia says:

Yes you can cook longer. Check doneness before serving.

  2. Jackie Payne says:

Been wanting to try this for ages but had to wait until I visited my parents to get โ€˜properโ€™ honey as my dad is a bee keeper.
Finally had this tonight and will definitely be having it again. I didnโ€™t have apple cider vinegar so used lemon juice instead but was still fabulous.

I just need to figure out how to make the chops more tender.

I made this for dinner a couple of nights ago and it was so delicious! I had bone in pork chops and so it took a little longer to make since they were also thick cut. Itโ€™s replacing my old recipe of just garlic pork chops! Thank you for posting! This is going to be a great meal we have at least twice a month! So easy too!

    1. Admin says:

      Thank for your trying!

      1. Dane says:

Well I screwed up a bit. I used maple syrup instead of honey. But it was still very good. Thank for the recipe, Iโ€™ll try it again with honey :-)

    2. Marcy Montoya says:

I wanted to tell you I made this evening for dinner. Apparently I overbooked the chops because they were tough. Delicious but not very tender. How much time did you add for bone-in chops? Also I wanted to mention that I also cooked Coconut Lime Cauliflower. I halved all the ingredients EXCEPT the lime juice and zest. As limely as it sounds, it was great with with sweet chops. ??โ€?
