Agua Fresca, literally means “fresh water” is a refreshing thirst quencher in summer months. With summer officially here, this beverage is all you need to beat the heat.
Watermelon is my favorite summer fruit and this watermelon-lime agua fresco is the easiest and most delightful summer drinks. When you have ripe, red, and sweet watermelon, you only need some lime juice and sugar to make this cold drink.

Make sure you use seedless watermelon for this agua fresca recipe. Choose the ripest watermelon possible, with red color flesh and oozing with natural sweetness.

Watermelon-Lime Agua Fresca
Ingredients
- 2 lbs (1kg) ripe and seedless watermelon
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 tablespoon agave nectar or sugar to taste
Instructions
- Blend all ingredients, adjusting sweetness as needed. Strain through a mesh strainer. Serve over ice.
