As I specialize in Asian recipes, you would think that my 4-year old son’s favorite food is Asian rice and noodles, right? Unfortunately, the answer is the complete opposite.
The picky eater just doesn’t fancy Asian food, in fact, he dislikes rice, has zero interest in eating Asian stir-fries, and he is really not that into Asian noodles either.
As a mother, I am rather disappointed, and I can only hope that one day, his palate will awake to the wonderful flavors of Asian cooking and would eat exactly like I do.

For now, if you ask him what is his favorite food, he would tell you the following: pizza, mac and cheese, and pasta. He is American! Because of him, we pretty much eat pasta and pizza at least 2-3 times a week!!
It’s quite sad actually because I miss my spicy Malaysian food and delicious Asian food, but I refuse to cook two sets of dinners for him and for us, so we have been adopting little G’s palate.

Every week, he would ask for Parmesan Garlic Noodles, without fail. I actually don’t mind making it for him (and us) because it’s so easy to make, take less than 20 minutes, with only a handful of everyday ingredients, and we can customize the protein to serve with the Garlic Parmesan Noodles.
For little G, he would always ask for Korean Kalbi (his favorite Asian food), which we can easily buy from the many Korean restaurants or supermarkets here in Irvine.
For me, I always love a serving of ginger garlic baked chicken (check out my recipe), or miso-glazed salmon with the noodles, so we all have no complain.

Anyway, this is my Parmesan Garlic Noodles recipe, which is super easy quick to make, and you can serve it with all sorts of side dishes and protein of choice. I made some bacon-wrapped shrimp and pumpkin mashed potatoes to go with the noodles.
It was delightful and we all had a wonderful meal. I have another Asian garlic noodles recipe which is equally delicious.

Recipe Notes
To add some Asian flair to the taste of the noodles, sometimes I add 1/2 tablespoon oyster sauce instead of salt to flavor the noodles.

if I add cooked shrimp to this dish, what ingredients do you recommend I increase. Also when should add the shrimp
Rasa Malaysia
You don’t have add anything extra. You can add the shrimp after garlic. :)

It looks delicious, does it have to be olive oil or can it be any of them?

Where can I find your actual directions? and super funny about your description of your sons eating habits. Only difference for me was that I chose to be ‘that’ short order cook and I was cooking more like 3 dishes for my boys and husband! exhausting. Still at my son’s age of nearly 20 I still have to ‘deal’ with his eating agenda. (He has Asperger’s; it’s easier to just do it.) I admit, I am an enabler when it comes to this feeding/cooking thing. :-)
