Frequently Asked Questions
How Long to Cook Shrimp on Stove?
Shrimp cooks quickly on stove so do not overcook. As soon as the shrimp turns opaque on the surface, it’s cooked.
However, please make sure that you turn over to the other side to fully cook the inside.
It takes an average of 2 -3 minutes to cook shrimp on the stove top.
What Shrimp to Buy and Where to Buy?
I always buy frozen raw shrimp (tail-on or tail-off) at Target. They are available in the frozen section.
You can get 2 lbs of frozen shrimp in a packet for as low as $7.99 when it’s on sale.
I prefer tail-on, shelled and deveined shrimp. However, shelled and deveined shrimp without tails will work great.
Do not buy cooked shrimp because they are already cooked. Cooking the shrimp again on a stove will make them rubbery, tasteless and tough.
