Helpful Tips For Home Cooks

Boneless pork chops (center-cut boneless pork chops) with asparagus on a plate.
  • Use a cast-iron skillet (preferably) to pan-fry the boneless pork chops. Cast-iron skillets retain heat well and distribute it evenly, resulting in golden, perfectly pan fried pork chops. You can also use a non-stick or stainless steel skillet.
  • Use a combination of vegetable oil and butter for pan frying the pork chops.
  • Cook each side of the pork chops without turning for about 3-4 minutes, depending on their thickness. This step ensures that the pork chops achieve a golden brown color and are perfectly cooked.
  • Use fresh garlic minced with a chef’s knife on your cutting board. DO NOT grate or blend the garlic.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use bone-in pork chops?

Yes, bone-in and boneless pork chops can generally be used interchangeably in recipes. Bone-in chops often have slightly more flavor due to the bone, while boneless chops can be easier to eat.

Can I bake pork chops in the oven?

Yes, you can certainly bake pork chops in the oven. However, for this recipe, I don’t recommend baking because the honey tends to burn, resulting in less tasty results compared to cooking on a skillet. Baking also takes more time. This skillet pork chops recipe only takes 15 minutes from start to finish.

How long should I cook pork chops?

Cooking time depends on the thickness of the chops and the cooking method. Generally, pork chops should be cooked until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). You can use a meat thermometer to measure the internal temperature.

Can I use honey mustard instead of honey in this recipe?

Absolutely! Honey mustard can be a great substitute for honey in this recipe. It adds a tangy and sweet flavor to the final dish.

How many calories per serving?

This recipe is only 348 calories per serving. It’s healthy and loaded with protein!

I just prepared this recipes to see if it would be company worthy. We were very impressed with the flavor and ease of preparation. Pork chops were very tender and the sauce taste so good without over powering. Double sauce if you wish. I served rice on the side and drizzled some over. Will be serving this again tomorrow night for special friends. Thank you!

Quick to make and good flavor. It is a keeper, but I added a little bit of ginger to the seasoning on the pork chops and instead of fresh parsley, because I did not have fresh parsley, I used green onions to sprinkle on at the end.

      Thanks for your comment. :)

  8. Dara says:

Just to be sure you Brown in cast iron on high heat and when they cook additional time its also on high heat??

    1. Rasa Malaysia says:

You can turn to medium heat and cook after browning. Depending on how thick your pork chops are, you might need to use lower heat to cook through.

Soooo fast, easy and good! How can you beat that? My loin chops were very thick so I prob almost doubled the cook time. Came out perfect! My husband said โ€œput this one on the regular list!โ€ Very tender. Served with mashed potatoes and carrots. Used a little sriracha sauce instead of cayenne.
