Flaky air fryer honey glazed salmon.
  • Effortless and quick. Get a tasty, healthy meal on the table in under 10 minutes. The air fryer makes everything so simple, taking the guesswork out of cooking and turning weeknight dinners into a snap.
  • Mouthwatering sauce. The honey garlic sauce strikes the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and sticky, coating the tender salmon and making every bite bursting with flavor.
  • Healthy and delicious. Full of omega-3s from the salmon, this dish is not only nutritious but also super satisfying. It’s the perfect balance of feel-good and flavorful!
  • No more dry salmon. One of the best things about cooking in the air fryer is how it locks in all that moisture. Say goodbye to dry, overcooked salmon—this recipe gives you perfectly tender, flaky fillets every time.

Ingredients You’ll Need

Ingredients for air fryer salmon.
  • Salmon fillet – I went with skin-on salmon fillets because the skin helps lock in moisture and keeps the fish from falling apart in the air fryer. If you’re using skinless fillets, no problem—just handle them a little more gently when flipping or taking them out of the basket so they stay in one piece.
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Lemon wedges

Honey Garlic Sauce

  • Olive oil
  • Garlic
  • Honey
  • Apple cider vinegar – You can swap it for lemon juice if that’s what you have on hand.
  • Water

Grab a bowl and toss all the Honey Garlic Sauce ingredients in there. Mix it all together until it’s nice and smooth.

Seasoned salmon, topped with honey garlic sauce.

Spoon the sauce right over the salmon, making sure it’s all coated evenly. Or, you can place the salmon in a ziplock bag, pour in the sauce, and give it a gentle massage to spread it all around.

Honey garlic salmon in the air fryer basket.

Pop the salmon into the air fryer basket and spoon the leftover marinade right over the top. Then, set the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and let it cook for 6 minutes.

Dripping from the air fryer basket in a small bowl.

Once the 6 minutes are up, take the salmon out of the air fryer. Be careful and pour any dripping from the basket into a small bowl—it’s packed with flavor and perfect for drizzling over the salmon or some rice.

Top it off with some fresh parsley, chives, or scallions, and don’t forget to squeeze a little lemon juice over the top right before serving. It really brings everything together!

Secrets To Perfect Air Fryer Salmon

  • If you’ve got a little extra time, marinate the salmon for 10–15 minutes before cooking. It lets the salmon soak up even more of that delicious sauce for extra flavor!
  • For the best results, don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket! Giving the salmon some space lets the hot air circulate evenly, ensuring a perfectly cooked, juicy fillet every time. If you’re cooking more than one, it’s better to do them in batches for the best outcome.
  • If your fillets are on the thicker side, you may need to cook them for an extra 1–2 minutes. Just be sure to check that the internal temperature hits 145°F (63°C) for perfectly cooked salmon every time!
  • Don’t let that delicious dripping go to waste! Pour it right over the salmon or drizzle it on some rice for an extra burst of flavor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use frozen salmon for this recipe?

Yes. Just make sure to thaw the salmon completely in the fridge before seasoning and air frying. Once it’s thawed, give it a quick pat dry to remove any excess moisture.

Can I marinate the salmon for longer than 15 minutes?

It’s best to stick to marinating the salmon for about 10-15 minutes. Any longer, and the apple cider vinegar in the marinade can start to break down the fish, which could lead to a mushy texture. For the best flavor and texture, 15 minutes is just right.

How long can I store the leftovers?

You can store it in an airtight container for up to 2 days, but for the best flavor and texture, try to eat it within 24 hours.

What’s the best way to reheat salmon without drying it out?

For reheating, I recommend using the air fryer at 300°F (150°C) for 2–3 minutes to bring it back to life without drying it out. Just be sure to avoid the microwave if you can—it tends to overcook salmon and make it a little too dry.

How many calories per serving?

This recipe is 348 calories per salmon fillet.
