Sweet Chili Salmon - quick and easy salmon with Thai sweet chili sauce. The recipe takes only 15 mins on skillet or you can bake it.
Thai sweet chili sauce is a condiment that I never run out in my kitchen. The reason is very simple; we are addicted to it and would use it on everything: sweet chili chicken, fried wontons, Thai lettuce wraps, or anything that I can dip into it.
The good news is that little G has started to eat some mildly spicy food and he doesn’t even know that he is eating chilies. He has also started to eat salmon so I paired my simple pan-seared salmon with a jazzed-up version of Thai sweet chili sauce.
I added some lime juice to the sweet chili sauce to dilute it a little bit. Lime juice is also great to remove the fishy smell on salmon, it also cuts the fatty grease from the salmon skin.
Then chop up some cilantro leaves and add some sesame seeds into the sauce. Slather the sauce on top of the salmon and you will have the easiest, most delicious, and absolutely mouthwatering salmon dish for dinner.
If you don’t want to pan sear your salmon, you may bake it in the oven. Either way, this dish comes together in practically 15 minutes.

Hi Jean welcome and thanks for your follow.
This looks delish. I’ve been wanting to add more fish to my diet and can’t wait to try this. Do you happen to have the nutritional info for the recipe? Thanks!
I made this last night and it was delicious and easy, everything I was looking for. I buy my fish (mainly salmon) from the Atlanta Fish Market, half grilled, so it was even easier as my fish was fresh and already cooked. I really loved this dish and appreciate your creativity!
Hi Aron, thanks so much for your sweet comment I am so glad you love this sweet chili salmon recipe!! :)
I agree with Alice on much of her post. I try to incorporate salmon in my significant other’s diet and mine. He really likes salmon and I tolerate it. The glaze makes or breaks it for me and I am trying this tonight with jasmine rice and asparagus. We are die hard grillers and this recipe is calling the charcoal chimney. ;)
Great Paula hope you enjoy the dish!
I’ve been using sweet Thai chili sauce as a glaze for salmon for years, ever since I tasted it in a local restaurant–unidentified, of course. I don’t serve it in a rice bowl–although I see no reason not to do so as a family dinner–but it is delicious enough for the most elegant company dinner. In our house, I usually grill it outside and serve with rice–what else–and a lightly cooked green veggie of some sort. This is a perfect entrance point for anyone timid about trying spicy foods–sweet Thai chili sauce has been my youngest grandson’s favorite condiment since the age of 3!
Hi! This recipe looks delicious! Planning on making it tonight! What would be the best temperature to bake it at and for how long? Also, not a big fan of cilantro…what is the best substitute for that? Thanks!!
I’m with you on the cilantro, Nadia. I always substitute parsley.
I’m about to call my Mom to tell her about this amazing recipe. She’s obsessed with salmon. I’ve never seen such a salmon lover like her. She’ll be a real fan of yours, believe me.
