Tips, tricks, and recipes for dinner in a hurry!
Seafood Boil Recipe
Seafood boil, shrimp boil, crab boil, and crawfish boil are my favorite summer recipes. I love seafood, especially when they are coated with a spicy butter sauce with homemade seasonings.
It’s a great tradition to have friend and family together, sit around a big table and savor a delicious boiled seafood dinner.
This is the best and ultimate recipe just like New Orleans Louisiana, with a Cajun sauce that is fiery and addictive. This easy recipe took me only 30 minutes from start to finish.

Seafood Boil Seasonings
- 4 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
- 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
- 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar

- Rinse the shrimp with water, use a pair of scissors to cut off the mustache and legs. Set aside. Soak the crawfish in water and rinse a few times until the water becomes clear. Rinse and scrub the Manila clams. Drain and set aside.
- Combine all the ingredients of the Seafood Boil Seasoning in a bowl. Stir to mix well. Set aside.
- Fill a large stockpot halfway with water and bring to a boil. Add the lemon halves, follow by the shrimp, crawfish, Manila clams and corns. Cover the stockpot and cook the seafood and corns until they turn red or cooked through, about 2 minutes. Drain the seafood and corns, discard the water and lemon. Set aside.
- While the seafood is cooking, in a big skillet over medium heat, add the butter and stir in the minced garlic. Saute the garlic for 1 minute (not brown). Add the Seafood Boil Seasoning and Louisiana hot sauce. Stir to mix the spicy butter sauce well. Turn off the heat.

2 sticks of butter is 225g. You can just easily Google and find the answers.
Is there anyway to substitute Louisiana hot sauce?? I can’t find them in Singapore supermarket. ThankS.
Any hot sauce is fine.
Does the sugar make a huge difference? I’m afraid to use it if it makes it too sweet
You can skip.
Hey there! I want to try this recipe out but I can’t seem to find old bay seasoning anywhere. Is there a way to substitute without it? Thank you!
Can use Cajun seasoning.

Hello from California,
What spice formula can I use if I want very mild hear. A few ppl in the family can’t handle the heat to much. Just for reference they can only handle mild taco sauce from Taco Bell or 1 tsp suracha in a bowl of Vietnamese pho. Also what type of bread woukdnt pair well to soak up the sauce? Thx
Cut down on the spices if you want it mild. Crusty bread is fine.
I’ve tried a lot of seafood boil recipe and finally, this hits the spot! Thank you for you recipe, I wouldn’t have to go to boiling crab from now on. ?
Hi Nicholai, thanks. Yes, this recipe tastes like Boiling Crab, and better! :)
We used the seasoning recipe for a seafood bag boil birthday party last night. It was as good if not tastier than the restaurant and for our friends a really delicious and fun meal to have.
We did it with crab legs, lobster tails, crawfish, shrimp, sausage, potatoes and corn.
Here was my order: Add potatoes (red potatoes halved) — 10 minutes — add lobster tails and cooked sausage — 5 minutes — add corn on the cob (halves) — 2 minutes — crawfish and crab legs — 5 minutes — add shrimp and lemon halves —4 minutes. Add sauce and seafood to bags, shake and eat!
It tasted amazing on all of it. Thank you for sharing this recipe! It will be used again.
That’s amazing yes, all my recipes are restaurant quality. Yummy!
Made this yesterday and all I can say is it was the bomb !!!
Awesome!
Should I double the recipe if I add crab legs, mussels, sausage, and scallops?
Is there a way to make this with out butter since I can’t have dairy??
Just use oil.
Hi Rasa! I read the reviews and I want to add sausage. Should I add the cooked sausage after the I cook the boil. Also, since I’m adding potatoes and sausage do I need to make more of the sauce. BTW- I’m cooking mine in the oven. Thank you so much for your help!
If you are making it in the oven, there is no need to boil and cook the sausage. Yes, you can always prepare more sauce if you like! :)
